For almost a year now, I have had a strange feeling and noise in my left ear. It sounds like bubbling, and popping. I did take a short hike in the mountains right before it started but here is the thing IT HAS NOT STOPPED. Every time I swallow I hear a clicking/cracking sound in my left ear. I think my throat, nose and ears all three of them have something to do with it.

It was driving me insane along with the constant pain, crackling, and new to the mix, ringing that was starting to occur in both ears for various lengths of times along with the sound of my pulse in my ears..the ringing and pulsating has not been as prevalent as the crackling and pressure/pain issues. Sound When Moving Ear

Hi I just had ear tubes in my ears yesterday in the dr. office, Bewcause I have been suffering with ETD for 2 months now. Anyway, I had some very strange things happen to me about a week after the tube went in. If everything looks OK, give them some time, a month or so. The first time i experienced this problem was in a bar a few years ago. There’s no crackling though (at least, not unless i turn it much louder), but still it feels almost like it’s reaching this threshold volume level where it would make the noise. A strange thing is that when i put on my headphones, i can’t get this crackling problem, even when i turn up the sound very loudly! It does sometimes sound different from the right ear though, a bit like the sound is disappearing (or almost) for a split second, every now and then. But swallowing doesn’t make a difference, even though swallowing does make a difference if i first put a lot of pressure on the ears by closing my nose and blowing. Ehh, is it the same thing when I can make that popping sound happen whenever I want? Like when i’m in an airplane, manually doing the popping noise thing doesn’t always help. Just want to share there’s a reverse effect: I found could ‘pop’ my Eustachians at will and get the ‘hearing better’ effect, but I could also open the channel, inhale then release, and reverse the effect, causing everything to seem slightly less loud. I’d open them up when I wanted to hear a softly speaking person, and suck in when I entered a noisy room. I syringe my ears myself, VERY gently, with luke warm water and a turkey baster, usually haveing used the softening up with olive oil or the 1 peroxide solutions available at the pharmacy first. If like me you have quite badly compacted wax then only time with the olive oil will cure it, if it isnt soft enough when youre ears are syringed it can damage the ear drum.
