For two months straight the whooshing noise was getting louder and more frequent. The vertigo isn’t nearly as bad as last year, in fact this time it comes in small bouts and has been happening for over a week now. I hate the thought of going back to my GP or the ear doctor and get no answers! The noise, an incessant loud whooshing in his left ear, was driving Roger Luchs crazy — literally. It started as a whooshing sound so I went to my family Dr. that said it was an ear infection. She’s done all the tests, MRI, cat scan, hearing test, brain tests and everything comes back normal. I have had my chiro try to adjust the ear but nothing happens. I’m not sure if it’s just not needing adjustment, or is super stuck? I think it’s the former as she’s never recommended further treatment. It comes and goes in intensity – getting more intense with any upper respiratory infection. I too have been suffering with a whooshing sound in my left ear which coincides with my heart beat rhythm. If I block the carotid artery in the left side of my neck the noise goes away.

I have taken sudafed, ear drops, amoxicillin, nasonex and nothing seems to work!! I am having a cat scan next week and going to the dentist. It comes and goes and comes on when I yawn or burp. In my right ear when I turn around I can hair a whooshing sound or something that sounds like sand or air in my ear. I have pulsatile tinnutus along with all the hissing and droning sounds I also get. I have had poor hearing in my left ear since I was a child but never done anything about it until 10 years ago I had an operation and also have sinus problems and they have been cleared out 3 times but no success. It comes on about 2 days into my pill-free week and then goes 4 – 5 days once started back on it again. Feeling like there is a pressure in your ear that’s causing the hissing sounds. If I have a stressful dream, I’m woken but the hideous pulsating whooshing. Although i must say stretching being active and getting used to the noise but also recognising it comes and goes in severity with my arthritic bouts, does help. Hi there I have constant whooshing notice in my wright ear have been for the last 15 months GP says it tinnitus but can’t seems to stop I can’t sleep keep waking up from loud whooshing noise even when I change the position in sleep its really devastating and annoying feel tired all the time I really can’t get a few hours sleep ever since.
