I hear that damn weird humming sound every night. I live in New England in Mansfield CT near the town of Willimantic. It sounds man made, a wavering hum like an industrial fan or tires on a highway far away. Reports of the strange humming noise has circulated the globe, popping up in New Zealand, Canada, the United States and of course several towns in England. We all insisted it was not other boats, and it was not the dam at the other end of the lake. I used to hear a pulsating hum at night, but not every night. I finally realized that it was the train down in the valley about 5 miles from where I lived. I am looking for ear phones, I dread the noise every single night. RF over AC current power lines we will continue to hear this damned Hum.
Today I asked if anyone had heard anything strange last night and two of my co-workers, that live within 5 miles of me, heard what I did. BUT it was just a few weeks ago that I awoke at 3am to a weird humming sound outside on a very still night. All of a sudden she heard a very loud rumble like a plane flying very low over her house. The noise did not abate at 9:22pm on 30th, it was audible all night and seemed louder when I left at 4:30am. There is a mysterious droning sound often described as like a diesel engine idling that is severely impacting the quality of life of 2 percent of people in places around the world. I am seriously contemplating suicide because this Hum is keeping me up at night. We take it as sound, which is weird because it’s not supposed to happen like that but that’s how we experience it.
